Meet the Educator and Parent Behind MindED
Hi, I’m Jess, the founder of MindED—a certified teacher, school principal, and AI-Safe Learning Expert with a master’s degree in education and over a decade of experience in both the classroom and school leadership. More importantly, I’m a parent, just like you, and I understand the challenges of raising children in a world that’s evolving faster than ever.
Why I Created MindED
Education is changing. AI isn’t the future—it’s already here. From auto-generated writing assistance in Google Docs to adaptive learning platforms used in schools, AI is shaping the way students study, research, and complete assignments. Many schools are already incorporating AI tools, and whether we like it or not, our kids are being exposed to them. The real question is: Are they learning how to use AI safely, ethically, and effectively?
That’s why I created MindED—to bridge the gap between traditional tutoring and the reality of today’s digital world. I saw firsthand that AI can be a powerful learning tool when used correctly, but students need guidance to avoid misinformation, over-reliance, and misuse. Parents shouldn’t have to choose between ignoring AI or letting their child navigate it alone.
My Mission
MindED isn’t just about tutoring—it’s about teaching students how to learn smarter in a tech-driven world. In our weekly 50-minute virtual sessions, students don’t just get personalized academic support from a certified teacher—they also learn how to responsibly use AI as a tool to enhance their learning, think critically, and become more independent learners.
At MindED, I ensure that:

A Personal Note
As a parent, I know how overwhelming it can feel to keep up with the rapid changes in education and technology. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to ensure students aren’t just using AI—they’re using it wisely. With expert guidance and safe, structured learning, I help students build the skills they need to succeed now and in the future—without replacing the value of human connection and expert instruction.
